ORCHARD STEWARDSHIP INCENTIVE PROGRAM WITH GLOBAL RECOGNITION

56% of Production Acres or growers acres are enrolled by participating cooperative members.

In 2020, Blue Diamond introduced an innovative Orchard Stewardship Incentive Program (OSIP). The first-in-the industry incentive of this scale promotes preservation of natural resources such as water, soil health, and pollinator wellness.

OSIP utilizes the Almond Board of California’s California Almond Stewardship Platform (CASP), which is benchmarked against the internationally recognized Sustainable Agriculture Initiative as being up to Gold equivalent to their Farm Sustainability Assessment. OSIP includes incentives for obtaining Bee Friendly Farming certification, and for assessing the relative greenhouse gas emissions of an orchard.

Blue Diamond was awarded a $45M USDA Partnership for Climate-Smart Commodities grant advancing practices to support soil health, climate resiliency, and pollinator wellness for participating farmers.
